Fish kill on River Moy near Banada
The North Western Regional Fisheries Board is investigating
a fish kill in Co Sligo that happened yesterday Sept. 9. Over 3.000 trout and
juvenile salmon are estimated to have been killed in the River Moy at Banada.
The source of the problem has been traced to the Tobercurry stream which joins
the Moy about 3 miles upstream of Banada.
Fisheries Board staff are continuing to check the river
to try to establish the cause of the kill.
